Our art gallery features a rotating display of artwork, sculptures, paintings of various artists of Saskatchewan as well as unique displays from our collection. Début Art Show by Carla Tyacke May 17th - Sept.1st
This self taught artist, has learned to utilize her natural childhood drawing ability in developing her own techniques to create drawings with photographic realism. She began expanding her own technique by blending with an ordinary HB pencil and a soft white eraser to give a realistic look to these pieces. Without the influence of color, Carla uses this monochromatic medium to give a sense of beauty and originality with texture, shadows and light in her drawings.
Chow Time There is countless hours spent studying each chosen subject for her artwork and although she uses photographs for reference she also relies on her personal knowledge from life long memories of the country life to depict a realistic drawings and paintings of her subject. Her wide array of realistic farm animals vary from horses, cows, puppies, kittens, chickens, to even grain elevators, children, farm equipment to wildlife drawings of big bucks in pencil drawings and acrylic paintings. Each acrylic painting gives a sense of beauty and originality with the bright colors, texture, shadows and light. Within these detailed acrylic paintings a story is told and maybe evoking an emotion you can relate to. Everyone has fond memories of the horses, the west and wildlife, and Carla loves when someone can relate through one of her acrylic paintings.
On the Run Join us on June 7th for Gallery Night and meet with Carla personally to discuss with her, her art work, inspirations and future plans. 7pm-9pm
Prairie Landmark All pieces in the showing are originals and are for sale. Some of Carla's prints are available in the gift shop, both framed and unframed and packaged cards.
