June 27th - "The Trial of Louis Riel" play at Duck Lake. This play has not been on tour since 1985 and for the 125th Commemoration of the events of 1885 we are proud to host the play here in Duck Lake. "The Trial of Louis Riel", as put forward by John Coulter is based on the actual court transcripts of the trial. Today, the re-enactment performed by Riel Co Productions Inc. has been a mainstay in the city of Regina and the province of Saskatchewan for 42 years and has been viewed by more that 50,000 visitors. For the production not to continue would be yet another great tragedy in the history of this province. This re-creation has served as a constant reminder of the grave injustice that was inflicted not only on Riel and his family, but also to the entire Métis Nation, past and present. Equally important to consider is that RielCo's production of "The Trial of Louis Riel" has been paramount in preserving the memory of Louis Riel." For more info on the play go to www.rielcoproductions.com
Play is scheduled for 2pm at the Belle-A-Drome in Duck Lake. Call now to get your tickets (space is limited with only 300 tickets). 306-467-2057 Visa and MasterCard accepted. Tickets are just $20/person. Ticket price includes a prelude by authors Terry and George Goulet, story telling and closing the play will be a short performance by Andrea Menard.
